Joinery Inspiration

I have been working on several joinery projects lately and this is one of my inspiration images. From the Nikau House in Parnell designed by Strachan Group Architects, this image captures the simple joinery pieces of the home office slash library and the nook seating at the top of the stairs. Home Office

I got a call from these clients last year - they were expecting baby number two and their study was going to become the nursery, so where to put their home office? They cleverly thought about the large dead space at the end of their hallway. So we designed this desk with storage and shelving above to tie in with the existing interior features, re. panelled cupboard door and end panel to match the internal doors, and a chunky heading on the shelves to match the skirting. It turned out beautifully and clients are really happy.

A Great Bed Head-Board with Shelving.

Here is a cool example of an effective and useful head board around the bed.
This is from the Sydney home of stylist Megan Morton and she says this “Can you imagine what it’s like to wake up knowing all these amazing books are behind me?!” Yep, she's pretty happy with this. See the rest of her interesting home here.

Successful Television Integration.

I think this is a great example of having a TV in the living area - locating it in the bookshelves means the black rectangle doesn't stand out as much. This is a great move.
