Last week, I showed my clients some velvet fabric as a possibility for curtains in their home. I found these visuals to demonstrate how great they can look.

Republic of Fritz Hansen's Showroom in Milan

I came across this canteen belonging to Republic of Fritz Hansen and had a drool - imagine having your meals sitting in and surrounded by the top design classics in the last century. Then I found their new Milan showroom which opened in December - even better! I could walk out with all the pieces and the spaces are stunning.
Designed by Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto from Studiopepe with architect Stefano Tagliacarne.

More of Ett Hem Stockholm

I previously posted about Ett Hem Stockholm, a Swedish luxury 12 room hotel, in May last year and I came across these extra images that show more of the interiors - such an array of furnishings, materials and rich details. Designed by Ilse Crawford of Studio Ilse, Swedish architect, Anders Landstrom and hotel owner, Jeanette Mix, Ett Hem Stockholm is about "feeling at home, but ten times better".

Ferm Living SS 2013

The new Ferm Living catalogue for Summer Spring 2013 has been released and it is a continuation of the graphic, retro-modern mix that the Danish company does so well. I love the slightly bleached out effect of the photography, the great styling and of course, their cool products. See the whole catalogue here.

Exterior Colours

The building before the work.

Not so shabby now in it new exterior colours.

Looking up to the house from the bay below - before.

After - it ties in well with the front houses, don't you think?

From the street - before.

After.

The stunning views from the house
Here is a job that I worked on recently -
My clients have has this building for over 10 years and last year decided to renovate it in preparation to move from their large lifestyle property to one of the apartments here. The previous five apartments was reduced to four and as you can see above, the house has the best views in Wellington.
One of the first things I did for them was the exterior colour scheme - we went for a much softer tones than the existing and we think it ties it beautifully with the surrounding timber houses.

Inspired Materials and Colours by DesignOffice

Two:Bob, a fresh cafe in Melbourne, Australia by DesignOffice

Mud Australia's flagship store in New York - also by DesignOffice.

This morning I spotted Two:Bob cafe on Studio Home and was instantly inspired by the beautiful material and colour palette for a kitchen I am designing. When I further investigated Melbourne based DesignOffice's work, I was rather taken by their beautiful website and their great portfoilo - they have a way with muted colours and materials. I'm impressed.

Happy New Year

Welcome 2013! I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year break with family and friends. I did and feel refreshed for the exciting new year ahead.
I am back in the office today, however I keep looking out the window looking at the sunny day outside. Hmm, gotta work on that...
To keep with the summer theme and to ease into the working week, here is the home of a pro-surfer, Kieren Perrow and his family in Byron Bay, Australia. Love the minty green wall and the fresh, relaxed vibe of the home.
